Meet the Teacher!
Join us Thursday, 9/1 at 5:30 for Meet the Teacher night. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, understand how classes and grades will work in each class, and get the year started off in a positive way. We will begin at 5:30 in the commons, then you will go to each of your child's classes following their schedule. We will wrap up with general information to help you support your student through this school year. You'll be able to
set up a lunch account for your child;
create a powerschool account to see absences, tardies, and grades;
complete paperwork for student driving privileges including safety expectations.
Students received a copy of our student handbook (Select MVHS Student Handbook) the first week of school. A few of our operating policies that you will want to take note of are attendance (p11), closed campus (p14), electronic devices (p15), and lunch (p16) policies. Please return the signature page acknowledging your receipt of this information.
This is a milestone year for our Timberwolf Family. You are part of our legacy of rigorous coursework and high achievement, now in our 20th year! Dedicated to lifelong learning, your faculty spent the last 3 years learning research based practices. (While COVID interrupted teaching and learning, they dug deep.) As a result, our campus earned the National Certificate for STEM Excellence through the National Institute for STEM Education. In this 20th year of excellence in education, we are returning to Pre-COVID grading practices. This means your student may be frustrated at first with high expectations. Please encourage him or her to push through; this sends the message that you believe they are capable of doing the hard work to achieve their goals.
