Fall Update from the Director
The Moreno Valley is stunning this time of the year! I hope you are enjoying the fall and the golden glory it brings.
Quarter Reports 10/13
Today marks the end of the first quarter. You will receive quarter reports electronically next Thursday. Each semester has two quarters, but the grading period is a full semester long. We do not average the 2 quarters for a semester grade; instead grades will continue to change until the end of the semester. Students will not be able to make up assignments from the first quarter after next week. Therefore, if your child has been absent this week or has fallen behind, nothing before 10/7 will be accepted after Friday, 10/14.
Please mark your calendars for Monday, 10/17. Your child is creating a presentation for you about their learning, their goals, and struggles in each class. This is vitally important at MVHS. It prepares students to speak publicly, and to substantiate their thoughts. Teachers will reach out to invite you to the meeting at a specific time Monday. Students are only required to come to school with you during their conference time. This conference with you and the teacher will count as a grade for your student (and a great opportunity to boost their grade)!
We are celebrating our students all week with spirit activities and events. We kick off with student-led conferences, continue with spirit days, a kickball tournament, soccer and volleyball games, a bonfire, and end with a homecoming dance. Big thanks to Jenna Pepper, and the students who have been planning these events for more than a month! Watch for detailed information next week.
Halloween Happenings
Mark your calendar! Saturday evening, October 29 we will have a spooky bake sale along with indoor activities at the school. Thank you to Amelia Smith and advisory students for putting this on! More details to come....
Go Timberwolves!
