IMPORTANT: Letter from the District regarding Re-entry
Please read the letter from Superintendent Adán Estrada and Principal Tammy Dunn to get clarity on the current state of discussion of Re-Entry for the 2020-2021 School Year.
The Public Education Department has been working with the School Re-Entry Task Force to research and identify best practices to support student safety from COVID 19. Those guidelines were released on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
Cimarron Municipal Schools will be using the guidelines to support student learning while keeping students, staff and community safe. Moreno Valley High School in partnership with Cimarron School District can continue our four day schedule on-site learning experience, which is safe and familiar for staff and students by implementing the following
● Requiring masks for students and staff
● Screening health symptoms and taking temperature readings daily
● Practicing Social Distance
● Maintaining rigorous disinfection practices
● Partnering with Colfax Hospital District to offer rapid response COVID testing on a random and ongoing basis for staff and students
While we would love to have all of our students on site, we recognize there may be parents who wish to keep students at home and away from possible exposures at school. We would like to work with you to provide online
learning options for your students with teacher support.
July 8th, at 5:30, Cimarron Municipal Schools, including Moreno Valley High School, will host an online question/answer session to share the District’s teaching and learning plans. This will allow time for parents and
community members to express concerns and ask questions to be fully prepared for the start of our school year.
More information about this virtual meeting will be released in the near future.
Given the District’s plan to follow PED guidelines and to implement the bulleted precautions listed above, we invite you to share your thoughts regarding school reentry as the administrative team works to develop a comprehensive plan to return all staff and students to the building safely.
Please complete the following survey to provide us with
your feedback, knowing that the information you share will be kept confidential among school staff and used only for
these planning purposes. Click the link below to access the survey:
The plan developed by the District will be fluid, and subject to change according to guidance and mandates issued by NM state agencies: the Public Education Department, Department of Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Our final plan will be approved through the Public Education Department, and the plan will remain under
purview by PED. Our number one goal is to address the safety of everyone in our school community, while providing a world class educational opportunity for our students. When guidelines change (subject to the health order at the time), our plan is built to anticipate and respond to the change.
