Recycling Fair at MVHS
Dedicated students, staff and community members came together during the first semester to learn, plan and execute actions to reduce waste in the Moreno Valley through reuse, repurposing, recycling and reducing consumption of certain materials in our daily lives. Thank you to all who participated in this service learning project with our students. Stay tuned for more.
From a Community participant Linda Gimbel Hughes: Lone Sørensen Krarup and I had a wonderful opportunity to work with our Moreno Valley High School students at your Recycling Fair!
Our booth focused on Smart Choices. We had handouts and raffled off several earth-friendly items: stainless steel straws, reusable grocery bags, and more.
Our group, Wheeler Peak Progressives, is a part of a community environmental coalition called Angel Fire Reduce Reuse Recycle (AF RRR). In October, we participated with the students in four advisories: Journalism/Communications, Science, Societal Influences & Municipal Ordinances, as they relate to RRR.
We were thrilled to help wrap up the students’ education process!
