2023 STEAM Summer Camp!

MVHS heard you loud and clear after our first STEM night! So in response to your feedback we would like to invite students ages 6-14 to attend our STEAM Summer Camp.

What is the difference between STEM and STEAM?

“STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The need for STEM programming in education developed out of concern that future generations were lacking critical skills needed to succeed in the current and future economy. STEM programming teaches innovation, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration among many other skills proven to lead to success.

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The difference is that arts are included, ranging from visual arts, language arts and physical arts to music and more. STEAM focuses on sparking imagination and creativity through the arts in ways that naturally align with STEM learning.” (Source: The STEM vs STEAM Debate)

What can you expect from our STEAM Summer Camp?

Each day We will take a deeper dive into many of the STEM stations from our MVHS STEM night. Next students will learn about the arts in the areas of Theater Set Design, Filmmaking and Art. Teachers will help build connections between arts in education and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to ensure all students have the opportunity to flourish, no matter their natural skills and passions.
